Q: what is the top speed on a 2004 bmw 545i? and a 2005 bmw z4?
A: 545i is electronically limited to 250km/h 155MPH.
So is a Z4 with the sport pack.
You didn't say which Z4. I don't know if a 2.5i could reach the limiter. With the top up a 3.0i might. A 3.0si and M certainly will.
A Z4 without the sport pack will be limited at 128MPH. - That is because the original tires are not rated to higher speeds.
There have been a few reports that the speed limiter can be defeated in a Z4 M by downshifting to 5th. You can get to about 165 in 5th gear. I don't think that matters in an ordinary Z4, since the redline is lower.
The Z3 M coupes toped out around 150. They hit the rev limiter, no speed limiter needed.(photo attached)
Q: 2005 Pontiac GTO or 2004 BMW Z4 M?
Looking into buying one of these two. What do you think? Any others in this class\price range?
A: go for the GTO : newer, more horsepower, roomier
im guessing your going around the mid 20s range?
you should also look into the mitsubishi lancer evo, the volkswagen GTI, the dodge neon SRT4, scion tC, and the ford mustang
Q: Fitting a cup holder in a z4 - HELP!!!?
Can anyone give me instruction as to how to fit a standard BMW retractable cup holder to the dash in a 2005 BMW Z4?
I removed the vent but there is a void behind. The car was not supplied with an existing cup holder. I bought this one second hand and I am trying to fit it.
A: you need to pull out the cup holder and remove the screws in the fresh air grill above and on the bottom of the cup holder. gently remove the cup holder and note where it slides in the groove for when you reinstall it. There's also an arrow on the attachment. Install in reverse order.
Q: Should I get a Corvette or a BMW Z4?
It would be a 2005 Corvette with the LS2 motor (not the Z06) and the 3.0si version of the BMW Z4. I want something fast but it's not the most important thing since nothing can match the speed of my motorcycle. While speed is still very important I'm concerned about luxury and quality as well. I'm worried about the following things when it comes to the corvette: the smoothness of the gearbox, interior noise and rattling (especially at higher speeds), and the suspension quality (I plan to get one with the Z51 performance package; sport suspension is fine when it comes to bumps but I prefer the car not to tilt over in turns). When it comes to the Z4 I know the suspension is amazing and the cornering is perfect (I drove one). It's also very luxurious and structurally solid at high speeds which I'm very fond of. If the C6 Corvette handles well, is very comfortable, and is structurally solid then it comes down to speed and I know the corvette wins there. If anyone has driven either, or both (for comparison), of these cars I'd really appreciate the input and anything else you guys have to offer. Thanks.
Bump (has to be 10 char)
A: Corvette. It's faster, classier, looks better, and believe it or not, gets the same fuel economy as the Z4 while having near 200 horsepower more. It's also reliable and got great reviews and crash test scores-unlike the Z4 which is notorious for it's bad German engineering. I'm not saying that because I love Chevy, but because the Corvette is just the overall better deal. Plus, in a decade or 2, that Corvette will be a Classic. The Z4 will just fade into the shadows like almost every other BMW does.
Corvette is not only a track car. Out of the Dodge Viper, Aston Martin DBS, Audi R8, Ford GT, and the Ferrari F430 and 599 GTB, The Corvette was rated the most capable daily driver by Road and Track Magazine.
The Z4 wasn't even mentioned, because it doesn't even come close to touching those cars.
Q: Which should i buy porsche boxster or bmw z4? used ofcourse?
im getting my g2 soon and my father as being the only child because my sister married and moved out says i can get a luxury car. he thought of buying me a new pontiac solstice but i wanted a used porsche boxster. budget is 35-40k canadian maxxx. i cant push any furtehr thats bottom line. after looking at cars in canada it seems that for 35-40 u can get only a 2003-04 model of a porsche boxster. but teh boxsetr in my mind looks so much better after 2005. and i kinda think it is more for women but ofcourse u cant make fun of a teen driving a boxster. the z4 i dont like how the front is so large and back is nothing but when isat inside it the car seems so large because of the large hood and if u dount look back and see ur trunk kinda looks chopped off its a nice car. it seems to be cheaper than the porsche performance u tell me which has better speed handling and more bang for the buck.
please tell me what you think honestly of the two cars.
id appreciate if people kept tehmselves emotionaly out of my life everytime i ask this question some moron makes a smart remark about my age my spelling and my life. if you can keep that out it be great thank you.
A: i prefer the bmw........ for me the boxster is not a porsche...... im sorry......
Q: Pirreli P Zeros right for me?
I have a 2005 BMW Z4 2.5L Roadster, I need to replace the tires, I am thinking Pirelli P Zero's. I drive my baby like a sports car is meant to be driven, quick acceleration, fast cornering, generally very aggresive, what kind of tire might best suit me?
A: These tires are just what you need
Q: Which car has the least expensive maintenance?
Looking at a 2004 BMW Z4 or Audi A4 or a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Of these three vehicles which one will be the least expensive to maintain?
Thanks!
A: the jeep of course. european cars are very expensive to maintain.
Q: Dodge Charger R/T Or Mustang GT Boss?
I'm about to get a new car and i was trying to figure out what car to get. It's a bit hard to decide. I really want the GT BOSS though. My choices are below..I would love all of your advice!!! GOD BLESS
Dodge Charger SXT or the R/T
2005 and up Mustang GT Boss
1995 To 1999 BMW E36 M3
2004 And UP BMW Z4
1999 To 2002 Porsche Boxter
A: Definitely go with the dodge charger, police use them so you know they are super fast ans awesome..mustangs suck..older car posses more likely to need maintenance then a new car, and with an old porsche if it breaks down the parts are going to cost you double what a normal say blinker light, because you are paying for the name as well...good luck on your decision.

A: I've had a few students at track events that have these cars, and have also had the chance to take a few laps driving these cars at the same events. Ultimately, both are good cars. My ownership experience with cars from both marquees would lead me to have fairly high expectations of their build quality and reliability as well.
The Boxster is one of the best balanced cars ever made. It feels effortless in how it moves corner to corner. The whole platform is wonderful. Of the base model cars, I actually prefer the engine character of the early 2.5L versions, as I think these seemed to have more in the top than the later 2.7L (though the later probably would be more livable in day to day traffic). The later 987 though is the best of the lot, though possibly too new for the price range.
The downside on the Boxster is that there's not alot of extra room, and that the appointments in the 986 version sometimes feel like they are entry level (which they are, but should be a little better for anything with the Porsche name).
The Z4 is a great car... also wonderfully balanced, but a distant second here compared to the Porsche. The Z4 feels like a more powerful car though. I think it would be hard pressed in many cases to keep up with the Porsche because the chasis and braking do seem to be that much better in the Boxster, but the Z4's engine feels very alive and responsive. While the drive by wire aspects of the car work much better than I feared, I think driving the car is still somewhat vague. But this adds to it's somewhat more luxious feel. The BMW gearbox also has a more direct feel.
The downside here is again, the car is small. Both of these cars are better suited to be someone's second car than they are to be the main car. The Porsche is more of a sports car, while the BMW is more of the kinda sporty luxury car. While I don't think either car is well suited to an inexperienced driver, I would say that their balance and forgiving nature probably make them better suited than many cars that offer similar levels of performance.
For me, the Boxster is the better car... but this is based on what I value in a car. Consider what you want in a car, and then take the time to drive a few examples of both and look closely at them. It's likely the choice between them will then be quite clear.
