A: Horsepower ratings are slightly different depending on where you're located. The motor in the 2004 Z4 3.0i is the M54B30 3.0L that puts out 225hp (or in Europe, 231bhp). You can expect 0-60mph in about 5.9s. What is most confusing is that in the newer 2007 Z4, BMW is using the new N52 engine but continues to use the 3.0i and 3.0is designations. So, the current Z4 3.0i puts out 215hp, and the new Z4 3.0is puts out 255hp. Both use the new N52 motor with valvetronic technology but are tuned for different horsepower.

A: I own 5 BMW's one of them is a 2008 Z4. They are great cars to drive. When you purchase them new, they come with a 4yr/50,000 mile warranty and free maintenance for the same amount of time. Most used models from the dealer also come with a 6yr/100,000 plan if it is certified pre-owned - That's what you should get if you cannot afford a new one. Oil changes using recommended synthetic oil (if you are not in the maintenance plan) are $69.95-89.95 at the dealer every 15,000 miles. That's BMW maintenance schedule. You have a 30K mile inspection and a 60K mile inspection which averages about $400-600 depending on what services you require at that point. The Z4 is extremely reliable, and if you check all the Z4 and BMW message boards like Zpost.com, bimmerforums.com, bimmerpost.com you can talk to owners and see what they have to say. I have owned BMW's since 1984 and love them! The only ones with major problems are the ones that were not maintained. When buying used make sure you get a carfax and only buy one with complete service history. Good luck!

A: Consider the mileage on the '95 one, if the mileage is acceptable go for that one. As a 16 year old, are you going to pay the insurance? Are your parents? remember that either way the insurance will be higher as you are a 16 year old so you would want an older car to help with that also do you expect that, as a 16 year old, your first car will last you for yeras and years? I would definitely go with the old one, not because i think you are going to total your car, but because it is better for a first car.

Q: BMW Z4 windshield insurance question... help please!?
Hi, I have a 2004 BMW Z4, and the rain sensor, for automatic wipers, has broken. Apparently, you need to replace the whole windshield to fix this (if you know different, let me know!), so my question is... is it possible for me to claim for this under my insurance? My windshield excess is £70, but I assume that is for when the windshield is cracked or damaged etc. So, seeing as mine is not damaged, only the sensor, is there any way I can claim? Also, if anyone knows how much a new windshield for a Z4 is, that would be great too.. I can't find any figures but I assume it's pricey :-( Any help or advice on this would be greatly appreciated (I'm in the UK, by the way).. Cheers!

A: First let me start by saying I own 5 Bimmers and am a real owner and fan of their vehicles. My newest is a 2008 Z4, I bought primarily to use for BMW Club AutoX. It is a well balanced great handling car. It is light and nimble enough that it doesn't need tons of HP to push it around. I have yet to meet a Z4 owner who doesn't like their car. Most of the haters of the Z4 have never owned one. The Z4 has been compared to the Porsche Boxster and the Audi TT. You can do numerous searches on the net as well as youtube and watch how the Z4 is more liked than both of its competitors. I have all series BMWs and the Z4 is the most fun to drive, when I leave my kids at home!

Q: Why are cars so cheap on autotrader?
I was looking on autotrader because I'm looking to buy a 2003 or 2004 BMW Z4 roadster (3.0 automatic). I was suprised to find some as low as $20,000, but many for around $22,000 or so. Why is this? These cars have low mileage and are described as being in excellent condition (and the pictures look great). I was just curious why there are so many low priced vehicles on autotrader. A: all used car dealers negotiate the same expect to spend a long time at the dealership in order to get a good price.. if the car you are looking for is a car that is hard to find, expect to pay at least $2000 more for it than what they got it for.. if it is a car that is more easily found, and there are a lot of dealerships in the area that have similar ones, you can get away with paying about $1000 more for it one thing you can do is to ask to see the paperwork on it.. they wont always show it to you, and if they dont, you should say thanks and start walking out of the dealership.. trust me, theyll stop you before you take two steps but the paperwork will show you what they bought it for, what they put into to get it checked out, and anything else they spent on it.. and then just negotiate what price youre going to pay over it seen it done, and it actually worked out well for all involved good luck

A: Since your 16, im assuming your still learning or just learned. So i reccomend any of the BMWs... the Z4 being the nicest and most expensive... but i dunno if its a good starter car. BMWs are very nice, there brakes are awsome, they have alot of power, and there pretty safe. The VW would be more of a learning car... (and i personally dotnt like it, it looks like a messed up Audi) It all depends on what your looking for...
