Q: Does anyone know of what new features the 2008 bmw x5 will have?
Curious to know if theres any point in waiting another few months for the 2008 x5 rather than buying the 2007.
A: contact BMW
Q: my dad has a bmw x5 2008, and a bmw series 7, he bought me a toyota hilux which sucks i need a way to modify?
i need a way to modify the bmw so that they spend less gasoline, because he doesnt want to give me the bmws because of the gas spent, is there a way to modify the engine so that it would spend a lot less gasoline?
A: Get a job and buy your own car, if you are so fussy.
Q: What is the real world MPG of a 2008 BMW X5 4.8i?
The window sticker shows 15/21 but I average just over 10 MPG in the city and about 14 highway. I have been having electrical problems but I do not think they are related. I thought I would get much better MPG than my 2007 Cadillac Escalade which averaged 16 city and 25 highway. Granted, I have a lead foot but I think 10 MPG for a BMW is just absurd.
A: You can be sure you are not alone. I remember reading a recent article in an automotive journal, and their observed MPG for the 4.8i was a horrific 14 MPG despite BMW's claim they made massive improvements to their efficiency for the 4.8 engine. A long term test of the last generation 4.4 produced 14 MPG as well but they reported as low as 8 MPG in mixed driving. Depending on your driving habits, your actual MPG will vary greatly, perhaps as much as a 15 MPG differentiation.
Although BMW's are not known for being the most efficient, 10 MPG is unacceptable in my opinion. Having a ten MPG average is dangerously close to what a 51 passenger MCI bus averages in mixed city/highway driving.
The electrical problems may be related if they are part of the central computer which regulates transmission shifts and thus cause the low mileage readings. You may want to contact your dealer for further information.
Q: Where can i find 22" black finished rims for my 2008 BMW X5 for a Budget of around $2000?
A: ebay?
Q: what is the depth (measurement) of the 2008 bmw x5?
i would like to know what the depth measurement from behind the driver seat to the trunk. Because I need to know if my harp would fit in it.
my harp measuments are:
height; 74 inches
width: 39 inches
A: It would be close. I measured about 75" with the seats down and no 3rd row seat, although that could go down too I assume, but it depends on how far the front seat is back, how far it's reclined, etc. Also on the harp isn't only one small part that tall, which could be angled or put in between the front seats? The width is significantly more than 39", allowing you to turn the harp so that you use some diagonal length of the rear area also.
Q: Does my 2008 BMW X5 4.8 really need the 91 octane fuel that the manual says is minimum?
A: Rich77 is right. How many times do we need to answer this question?
BMW's (like most cars these days) have a knock sensor that will retard the spark if it detects incipient preignition (knock). This protects the engine from damage, but will cause the engine to lose a little power, since the spark occurs after the piston is starting down through the cylinder.
If you should sustain damage from preignition and the technician happens to find fuel with a lower octane rating than recommended in the tank (an unlikely scenario, but it could happen), you will loose your warranty protection.
The higher compression ratio allowed by using higher octane gas helps gas mileage (The same features that improve power improve efficiency, and thus gas mileage.), but the retarded spark that allows your engine to use the lower octane fuel will negate that advantage, and your gas mileage will go down.
Q: Is the 2008 BMW X5 hot?!
What do you think of the new BMW X5??
A: overpriced
Q: Looking to buy a BMW X5 with MSRP 47425 what price should i pay?
Currently in the market to but a 2008 BMW X5 New. MSRP on the car is 47425. Not sure with the current market how much i can expect to get off of msrp. any advice is appreciated
A: i like that car alot too, but to tell you the truth, it wont end up being about 50k. there are 1000 parts per minute moving under the hood. the car can easily break down. i have neighbors who own them and they say its a pain in the ass.
Q: When is the 2008 BMW X5 coming out?
A: Next model year's cars usually arrive during the fall. I've heard as early as September. In my area, the first shipments usually arrive in October. Orders for these cars are taken two months prior to the arrival date.

Q: what is the gas mileage of a 2008 bmw x5?
show both numbers (not just highway)
A: it's 15/21 for the 3.0
Q: 2008 bmw X5 3.0 or 2008 mercedes ML 350?
you were to get one of the 2 and if they were same price which would you pick and why. please consider exterior and interior design, performance, and fuel economy, and which is most luxurious too.
A: X5 - it's more reliable. The ML350 may look better and classier. BMW is a performance car. Benz is a luxury car. Both cars have oddities related to maintenance and repair. I recommend learning basic maintenance procedures for either car to extend the life and improve the performance of the car. You'll be surprised at how different modern BMWs and Benzes are. You'll need to have a lot of time, money, and patience to have a Benz serviced at the dealer.
Good luck. These cars are not easy to own, but it is worth the hassles.
Q: is the bmw x5 2008 4x4 ?
A: Any BMW model with an x in its name is all-wheel drive.
Q: Which SUV is better value for the money? BMW X5 4.8 Mercedes-Benz ML550? 2008 model?
Which SUV is better value for the money? BMW X5 4.8 Mercedes-Benz ML550? For 2008 model
Both the above SUV are priced same with similarly equipped ( i.e. $65K ), the main difference is the dumper to dumper warranties on the BMW for 4yrs/ 50K miles.
Are there any known issues with the model
A: If I had to choose, I would avoid both models. According to the consumer affairs database, both 2008 models suffer from faulty electrical components. I think the Mercedes offers better utility but I am not impressed with the look. The BMW looks much better but don't expect to see more than 14.6 miles to a gallon- thats the average reported by owners with the 4.8 litre.
I would highly recommend the Cadillac Escalade or Lexus LX570. Both are superior in quality and long term reliability, with Lexus placing 1st, Cadillac 2nd, BMW a distant 16th and Mercedes 18th out of 44 manufactures in a long term reliability study.
I personally drive a 2007 Escalade ESV and love it. Its classy, very roomy, can tow my 8000 lb boat without breaking a sweat and is not that bad on gas considering it weighs 6000lbs and has 407 HP and runs 0-60 ini 6.1 seconds. Also, Car and Driver was very impressed with their long term model which according to them, had the lowest operating cost of any manufacturer they ever tested.
Q: I need some advice about a BMW X5?
My dad has a 2008 BMW X5 and when i turn 16, he said that he will give it to me. I know that it is a really nice car, but i want a smaller car since the gas prices are outrageous. Can anyone give me information on the new BMW X5's
A: well. first of all there's three engines: 6 cylinder gas, 6 cylinder diesel, and 8 cylinder gas. then there's the six speed tranny. but that's a diffrent story. The engines are really powerful, that's how BMW got it's name. I'd say it's somewhat bad at the pump, but if your dad is giving it away, it's worth keeping. These are great cars, even if you are popular.
