Q: Is their any mechanical problems with a 2003 BMW X5 3.0i sport edition?
How reliable is a 2003 BMW X5 3.0i sport edition vehicle with 52K miles on it? I checked one out the other day and it look and sound good; it also drove very well. Has anybody experienced any mechanical or electrical issues?
A: No, my dad had the 2003 BMW X5, and he had no problems with it and he loved it. He changed it for the Cadillac Escalade ESV though, not because the BMW had any problems. BMW make good high quality cars :)
Q: Cost of BMW X5 2003 parts and labor?
Is a 2003 BMW X5 parts pricey? Do the BMW dealers charge a lot per-hour to work on the X5's?
A: I have a 2002 X5 4.4i. Expect to pay $100-$120/hour at the dealer or $80/hour at an independent shop. All parts will be marked up a minimum of 100%. So that water pump they sell you at $450 is only costing them $225.
Q: how do i know if my bmw x5 2003 2926 diesel has got a tracker?
Ive just got bmw x5 2003 2926 diesel insurance company want to know if it has got a tracker how can i find out last owner does not no if its got one thanks in advance
A: As the last "owner" doesn't know he won't have been paying the subscription, so doubtless if one was fitted it's been turned off.
Q: Anybody know how to reset 2003 BMW X5 oil change reminder gauge?
Once my 50000 mile free maintenance is up, I am not inclined to be doing an oil change at a BMW dealership (it is very expensive). My neighborhood mechanic is willing to do it, but he doesn't know how to reset the oil change reminder gauge. The 5 bar gauge that gradually disappears until 15,000 mile is up and reminds you your next oil change is due. Anybody know how to reset that after oil change?
A: If you don't get it done at a BMW dealership you can order the reset device from a BMW catalog and do it yourself. It's relatively inexpensive (in relation to how much the service fee is) and it's easy to use.
Q: where can i buy BMW x5 2003 diesel back brake light holder?
where can i buy BMW x5 2003 diesel back brake light holder the bit where the bulb fits in thanks in advance
A: The back brake light socket should be available from your friendly BWM dealer. It may be a special order item, but it should be available within a few days. Ask.
Q: Is the ABS module in my 2003 BMW X5 a Bosch 5.7, and can I replace it w/1 designed for another manufacturer?
It's a 4.4L. I realize the new unit has to be coded and replaced by a competent mechanic--I'm just trying to find a cheaper source for the actual part other than the BMW dealer. I got the impression that the module was a part used by many manufacturers; however, I have been unable to get a part number (I don't have the vehicle with me).
A: Although many car companies use the Bosch 5.7 ABS/ESP system, the modules are designed differently between manufacturers and models.
Some examples of differences may include the main connector itself, wiring locations, communication protocols with other modules and wheel sensors, engine management characteristics, braking modulation and most importantly, communication with the centrally located gyroscope and yaw sensor.
That aside, the E53 X5 does share many ABS/DSC components with the E39 5 Series and E38 7 Series (1999+) including the main DSC module.
Q: What car should I buy? 2003 BMW X5 or a 2007 Ford Mustang?
Just wondering what some people's thoughts are. I am down to these two.
A: Two totally different vehicles...comparing apples to oranges.
BMW by far if you find yourself a good conditioned used X5 and need cargo room.
Ford Mustang - I would stick with the GT or Cobra and only if you want a muscle car as there this not much room in the rear seats and in the trunk.
If you can afford it look at getting a new 07 BMW 335i or xi when they come out in the new year. Car that has room for 4, AWD if you get the Xi version and will blow the doors off a Mustang GT with it's Twin Turbo V6 that pulls out 300HP at the crank.
Q: 2003 BMW X5 Cost?
I saw a 2003 BMW X5 3.0i today; the mileage is 52,000. The body is in good condition, and the engine sounds good. The car accelerates and rides very well.
The dealer asked $26,500 for it... Is this a good price for this vehicle?
A: for an X5, yes. the X5's are pretty expensive new. And they retain a good resale value. I bought a 2001 Range Rover for $16,000...when the retail value was around $28,998..needless to say, I got a great deal. You might want to go for $25,000 or 24,000
Q: How much should I sell my 2003 BMW X5?
A: Check Edmunds at http://www.edmunds.com
or Kelly Blue Book at http://www.kbb.com
Good luck
Q: whats is the diference between 2003 bmw x5 4,4L and the 2008 model?
A: BMW redesigned the X5 in 2007. Compared to the 2003, a 2008 X5 is longer, wider and taller.. It has an optional 3rd row seat. The 2003 X5 is too small for a 3rd row seat. The old X5 ran from 1999 to 2006.
Along with the new engine, the X5 has a new 6-speed automatic transmission.
Q: Can A 2003 Bmw X5 fit 24" wheels?
Im trying to Put 24" wheels on my bmw 3.0 l 2003 car I was wondering if it will work with those wheels with low pro tires
A: Original sizes are:
- 235/65/17
- 255/55/18
But you can also buy rims up to 22" with no problem:
- 255/50/19 with a possibility of rear 285/45/19
- 275/40/20 with a possibility of rear 295/40/20
- 275/35/21
- 285/35/22
I wouldn't recommend buying bigger rims but after some modifications it is possible. Just look for a BMW tuning company, like for instance LLTek for Audi and VW.
Hope this helps!
Q: 2003 BMW X5 4.4i, AWD, 23,000 miles, $31K?
Is this a good deal? Anyone for or against the X5? Reasons? I drive a Lexus IS300, but really need an SUV. Don't like the RX... Too much of a soccer mom car. Looked at the 4Runner Sport, but the BMW is so much more luxurious, not too mention much faster and more sporty. Thanks for any comments.
A: Yes, that is definitely a good deal, slightly under its private party value of $33K+. I don't personally like the looks of the X5, but can understand you on the RX comment. The new one's looks alot better, but will cost you a small fortune. Overall the X5 is a really good SUV, kills those Benz turds.
Q: where would i find fuel filter in 2003 bmw x5 engine?
A: On most cars it's at the back of the engine block.
I have an old 316i, and on that it's under neath the side of the car, basically below the front passenger seat. So it's worth checking there too. It might have a plastic cover over it.
If all else fails, buy a Haines manual (available from a Halfords)
Q: Does anyone know how to reset the central locking on a BMW X5 2003.? Thanks in advance?
A: It's your FUEL TANK door mechanism (that locks the fuel tank door when you lock your car) that is blowing the fuse! Simply disconnect it (it's plug is right there on right side of trunk next to fuse box), put in a new fuse and retry it! My other key started working as well!! I had all the same symptoms you did. Works now!
Q: Should I buy a BMW X5 for my son?
I want to get my son (17 years old) a car in which is safe and "somewhat" ;) nice too. I don't want to do anything Japanese, and preferably not American.
I have been looking around and have seen many 2000 - 2003 BMW X5's for around $16,000. Most of them are with the good V8 engine? Why are they (relatively) inexpensive? They seem like a really good deal.
Should I go with the X5, or are there better cars for the money out there?
Thanks for the help!
A: A) Make him buy his own car. He is less likely to trash it if he has $$$ in it.
B) Who pays for gas? Will you be paying for that too? Paying for gas on a highschool salary in a X5 would be crappy.
C) Will he be paying for repairs? German cars are notorious for high parts prices as well as very odd service procedures
D) Stay away from the Benz's M-class at all costs.
