Q: Can i get warranty on used BMW x5 2002?
Hye,I am owndering if I can buy extended warranty for my BMW x5 2002 3.0i with 69k miles on it??? Will that warranty cover fixes as changing abs sensors or like abs module or fixing window washer or somethign like that? also can i buy maintanace plan as well to change oil and etc for free?

A: I dont believe you qualify for the BMW extended warranty since it isnt being sold through a dealer right now. BMW does not allow them to be purchased when you already own the car, only if you sell it to a BMW dealer who then sells it and certifies it. 1.) The warranty - Your best bet is either warranties4wheels.com or genuinewarranty.com. W4W is a reseller of many companies warranties all of which meet your requirements. Genuine Warranty is the underwriter for most long term BMW warranties, including W4W's. 2.) ABS Sensors/Modules/Window washers - All of those are items that extended warranties that are *exclusionary* should cover. Both companies in #1 cover them. 3.) Only Genuine Warranty offers the the maintenance plans with the warranties. Its more like prepaid oil changes with no deductible. Again too, W4W will offer that as an option, but other companies that W4W offers for contracts will not have it. Remember that prepaid oil changes doesnt mean your B/C service, only schedule A. There are probably other places to purchase from, these are just the two I am most familiar with and have had good experiences through. Good luck!

Q: Where can I pimp my 2002 BMW X5?
I have a boring 2002 BMW X5, that I keep very well. My family tells me to sell it and buy a newer car. But I am emotionally attach to it, I will like to make it look different. I need some help. I am open to all advices and if you know a good body shop that can do an amazing job in my car I will appreciate it a looooooooooottttttttttt!!!!!!!!!!!

A: Keep it if you are attached to it! its a nice car! You can change the rims, thats a start. If you got some money you can buy the AC Schnitzer Body kit for it and put that on there, looks really nice (see the link at the bottom) Change the exhaust, or at least the tips and it'll go really well. And to top it all off on the outside you can get some nice window tinting done, maybe 20% tint. http://www.netcarshow.com/ac_schnitzer/2002-x5_e53/800x600/wallpaper_02.htm

Q: Anyone else have any problems with their 2002 BMW X5?
I just bought mine used with 80,000 mi. and already have had problems with it in really cold weather. The front door don't open and sometimes then won't close. Also problems with oil leaking and black smoke. Anyone else? I am quite disappointed. I expected a car of this calliber to at least be able to handle a NY winter!!

A: Same here! My X5 rarely opens the doors, especially the driver side door when it is too cold. Also, it makes odd noises when you turn it. That's all fine after a few minutes though. Truthfully though, it just started to make weird engine noises... Sounds like a loose belt. Our X5 is going at 93,000miles. It really is a fantastic car though, I love it but unfortunately, because of the North American demand of SUVs and Europe's lack there of, the X5 is built in the USA. That is not good, they really don't do that great of a job. Expect to sacrifice the performance it gives with only half decent reliability. We're in the same boat here, good luck. Hope no more serious issues occur with your car!

Q: 2001 or 2002 BMW x5 for sale?
i live in the bay area and i want to buy a car... does anyone know where i can get a 2001 or 2002 BMW x5 for 15,000 or else? oo lmao...i didnt mean to rite or else (wow that sounds mean!) i meant: or any other lower price..

A: "Or else!" haha nothing is funnier than the unintentional! Typically if a dealer gets a car that old they will go straight to auction. You best bet is looking through reputable used car companies like Carmax or Autotrader. Classifieds such as eBay or Craigslist can sometimes be very sketchy. However your number one priority in purchasing a BMW is knowing it was well maintained. Get a hold of its service records and ideally speak with the previous owners and have a qualified BWW or import mechanic look it over. If the x5 had neglectful owners it can easily become a money pit at this age. My brother recently purchased an '07 Volvo through Carmax and was very pleased with the service (especially since in-state delivery is free and out of state delivery is still cheap).

Q: 2002 BMW X5 3.0 reliable?
I own a 2002 BMW X5 3.0. I purchased it with ~43,000 miles about 9 months ago and it now has ~53,000 miles, mostly highway. I recently had to replace the brakes (which is expected maintenance and doesn't bother me), what does is that I also had to replace the thermostat. In below freezing weather conditions I had no heat and was not a happy camper. Is this just a flook thing, or should I expect to have more problems with the 2002 3.0 V6? Has anyone not had any problems with their 2002?

A: I have an X5 3.0. i have had problems with the window motors other then that. i have had just normal wear and tear items replaced, break, wipers, headlights etc... i have over 100,000 miles on it now and it is still running like new. (knock on wood) I have been pleased. I hope you have the same luck i have,

Q: does anyone know how to change the front blinker bulb in a 2002 bmw x5?

A: with any luck all you have to do is unscrew the lens cover and take it off. With any bad luck you will have to go into the motor by the wall. You might have to move maybe the battery

Q: BMW X5 2002 headlights washers ?
I got BMW x5 2002,but I don't know how to use headlights washers and as well as back windows washer? Please details. Thanks. manual didn't help me at all.

A: Usually BMW's equipped with headlight washers have an automatic setting where the washers will only go off every sixth time you activate the windshield washer WITH the headlights turned on. I'm assuming that would also be the case with you rear window washer since I would assume you wouldn't want the rear to be cleaned every time you cleaned the front windshield. Try turning on your headlights and activating your windshield washer a few times until you get see fluid spray your headlights.

Q: I have a BMW 2002 X5 3.0 in which the engine overheated and an oil smoke came out from the hood. Thoughts?
The coolant temperature also went to hot. The temperature this a.m. was 8 degrees. Suggestions?

A: If the coolant in your car was not able to protect your engine in severe cold, you have a problem. Sometimes what happens is that the thermostat freezes, and bends, and can't do it's job. Hopefully, you have never taken this car to a quick lube or other place that doesn't use genuine BMW coolant. If you did, you may have more problems than you think. When in doubt, have the BMW dealer inspect it. Chances are that you have not caused any engine damage, yet, so don't take any more chances. You might want to have your engine bay shampooed at a car wash to make things easier to see. Good Luck!

Q: where can i find the battery for my 2002 bmw x5?

A: In the boot, Remove the spare tyre and under that support is a black metal triangle, with a hump on it. 4 13mm bolts hold that on to the vehicle, be carful if you have air suspenion the pump is in it so when you lift it up watch the air lines.

Q: warranty for BMW x5 2002?
Hye,I am owndering if I can buy extended warranty for my BMW x5 2002 3.0i with 69k miles on it??? Will that warranty cover fixes as changing abs sensors or like abs module or fixing window washer or somethign like that? also can i buy maintanace plan as well to change oil and etc for free?

A: You certainly can. Your X5 is out of its factory warranty by two years and 19,000 miles but you have two options for extended warranty. One is through BMW. They have two programs that'd interest you a, 'Pre-Paid Repair Plan' and 'Pre-Paid Maintenance Plan.' The other is through third party insurers. It's very similar to health insurance. It can be rather expensive but can really help if a serious problem arises. Typically you select a level of coverage and to what mileage it'll be covered (they usually have deductibles and co-pay like health insurance as well). So you can just cover the powertrain until 80,000 miles or have full coverage until 120,000 (for example). Third party plans are generally not so great for BMW owners. The facilities they use can sometimes be understaffed or undertrained to work with our powerplants. Going with a genuine BMW plan will ensure you always have trained technicians working on your car. You're not going to get "free oil changes" with any BMW pre-paid maintenance plan but what you will get is a reduced cost in the long run for oil changes, rotations etc as opposed to paying for them individually. It's a way for BMW to ensure they have your business and a nice way to save you a little money long term. Hope that helps.
