A: Maybe...However the manual gearboxes are much more enjoyable, especially for the Ultimate Driving Machines (BMWs ROCK!) I am personally not into tiptronic gearboxes, or even autos. Anyway it would be a very expensive option, how about just being satisfied with the M5 or M6? Also the dealer probably wouldn't put it in, so you would have to go private, and if there was problems...it would be a very, very big ordeal. The M5 is already an awesome car, perhaps a few other mods instead, like new sound system, lighening, engine and exhaust tweeks? I mean they were probably the 2nd best BMW ever (origional m3 the best). So my opinion is that while it is possible, it would be very very expenisve, dangerous and time-consuming. You would be much better off trying some other mod.

A: This is an easy answer. Buy the car that fits your needs. If you need to seat 4 lovely ladies in your car and still outrun a Porsche 911, buy the M5. If you only let one chick in your car and have no need to seat more, buy the M3. If you have no seating preferance, buy the M5....V8 power, loads of torque, and a hare quicker. Plus lower mileage....thats worth it right there. Plus, how many M3s do you see around?? I see about 7 M3s for every M5 I see...so the M5 is much more rare. I like having nice things that not everyone has.

Q: BMW Crankshaft Position Sensor?
I read the list of faults found in my flood damaged 2000 BMW M5, and the CPS was mentioned. I now have two questions regarding this part: 1. Will a CPS from a 2002 M5 work in my 2000? 2. Could this be causing a rough idle/shut off immediatly after start up? Thanks for the advice Brod: The car got about 4 pages of electrical faults, the majority being nothing at all. About 1/4 the page tells me the window doesn't open... BMWSGOD: Nope, still like the car. Minor setbacks aren't too bad, it's still an M5, and I bet I'm one of the only 19 year olds who can say they bought their own M5!

A: Yes, a CPS from 02 is the same as an 00 (P/N 12 141 742 629). But no, a bad CPS I believe would not cause a rough idle/shut off after startup. Why ? Because a bad CPS signal would not allow the engine to start in the first place. No BMW engine will start with a bad CPS. Do not think that you have to disregard the CPS fault. After making sure that the wires/connector to the CPS are clean, not burnt and properly connected, you still have to replace it. You would be lucky if after cleaning the wires/connectors, the engine fires up nicely. But you still have to look for other faults/problems lurking in your engine's electronic controls. Any flooded out car needs to have each and every electrical connector and module cleaned with electronic spray and air (connectors disconnected, key off, and battery disconnected). Post your other faults for further analysis if you want. EDIT: After cleaning the control modules and connectors, clear the faults, then re-check for faults that come back. These remaining faults would be the ones that need serious diagnoses.

a 2002 corvette or a 2002 bmw m5?

A: Good question. I've driven a C5 Corvette on an autocross course, and ridden in an M5 with a racing driver at the wheel at racing school. Either one sticks to the pavement like it's Superglued to the asphault. I'd say the Corvette has a slight advantage thanks to its lighter weight. But realistically, a race between these two would come down to who's driving; most drivers are further apart than these two cars.

A: My site below under Internet Talk has an eBay page that teaches the unknown secrets of adding as many pictures as you want for free. Basically you need a host to store them on, then call them into your description using HTML. You can even create a slideshow of them, make them scrollable, and a whole lot more. Instead of using imageshack, check out the link in my MySpace Help section for other free image hosting companies that allow you to use their tools for doing all kinds of stuff with your photos. As long as these are not uploaded to eBay's server, you can place as many free pictures on your Ad as you wish. Hope this helps

A: Here is a little trick I use. When you find a page or listing like what you want just right click and select "view source". You want to click on the ad template, not the entire ebay page. Then "select all" and save this to WORD or WORD Pad or whatever you use. Find anywhere there is a http line and you will see what code is used on their photos. You can use this to make your own ad template or you can just use the html code to add photos to yours. Just change their photo link to yours. I hope that makes sense!
