Q: Should I get M/T 1967 mustang or an 2006 BMW M3?
I'm planning on getting a old school mustang and a BMW m3. The problem is one of them needs to be automatic, so that my wife can drive it. If anyone could give me any advice I'd appreciate it. I've wanted a M3 for as long as i could remember, but it seems like a waste to get automatic an 1967 mustang.

I'm 14 and I've started looking at first cars ( I know, a little early). So, on autotrader i found a 2006 bmw m3 convertible with about 30k miles on it and it was $14000 (it was a private seller). then today i found another one ( not a convertible, but it had a flip up tv screen in the dash and chrome rims) it had 25k miles on it and it cost $13000 (also a pvt seller) can someone tell me why they are so cheap? was there something wrong with both of them? the 1st one was sold by the way.
A: A couple of reasons.
The new M3 came out so the older models got cheaper.
The gas prices make the resale value's of powerful cars very low.

A: Actually, no. Its been basically the same car since 2000. 1998 was the more squared off body style, E36 i believe, and they didn't make an M3 in 99' to re-design it for 2000.
The real difference comes the end of this year when they are going to look more like the brand new 3-series and the power will be substantially more as they are switching over to an 8-cylinder for the 07 M3 instead of using the in-line 6. Power should increase from 330Hp to right around 400Hp.
Also for the 2007 M3 you should be able to get your M3 in a coupe, 2-door and a sedan, 4-door. I believe this is the first time they have offered this. Usually its all coupe all the time with the M3.
Q: 2006 BMW M3 quarter mile speeds?
Does anyone know what I can run in my BMW M3 on the quarter mile. I have the SMG transmission, and the performance package. The girl is fast, but I wanna race an EVO and I know he can take me on a road track, but I think I can get him on the quarter. Any ideas?

A: The 2005 M3 Competition Pkg with SMG will run 13.3 @ 104.4 mph in the quarter.
The 2004 Mitsubishi Lancer Evo RS will run 13.2 @ 99.8 mph in the quarter.
The M3 is definately a faster car through the gears, but the launch here is the big difference. The Evo can launch with such ferocity that the quarter times are great. The M3 is much harder to launch, but is faster. It all comes down to the driver in this case, one slipup in the evo and your nowhere near 13.2. Good luck, I hope you kill the Evo, I hate rice burners.

Earlier today I accidently put regular gas in the car , which is supposed to take the premium high octane. It wont start now, is that because of the gas or maybe a coincedence?
A: I'd say it is probably a coincidence. It's still under warranty, so I'd play dumb and have it towed to the BMW dealership and tell them it just isn't working. Deny ever putting regular gas in if they ask.

A: I would say silver over white.
white cars always look dirty unless you clean them every day. silver ones tend to hide that grey dirt.
silver is also better for hiding scratches than other colours.
white always looks like a company car.
Metallic paint is stronger than regular paint hense why it is more expencive as a colour option.

A: Looks wise the M3 only looks more aggressive than the 325 other than that they are almost identical. It all depends on what you want from the car. They are the same up to a point, where the M3 betters is
a. It looks better with its aggressive bodykit, wheels etc
b. It's a helluva whole lot more faster (not good english but hope you get the jist)
c. It has a whole lot more street cred.
On the downside, the insurance, running cost's and purchase are higher. But then the M3 will sell for a lot more come resale time. My advice, if you want to go all out and own one of the greatest cars ever built go for the M3.

A: The stock 335i has 300 horsepower the M3 330.
The 335i weights more than the M3.
Unless the 335i has a modified ECU program the M3 would win in a straight like.
But the 335i has a good amount of torque so at some points they may be even.
Although the M3 is more of sporty car with better handling and with the competition package better brakes and differential.

I was just wondering about how much you think the current value of lets say a 2002 m3 that goes for $29000, would depreciate in one year once the new model m3's are released to the public later this year. I was just wondering since I am in the market for a e46 m3 but they have always been a bit pricy. Thank you for your answers.
A: M3s of every generation tend to hold their values well. The reason is because EVERYONE has your same idea. :p

Both are comparably priced at about $28000. Both are 6 speeds too, not the smg thing. Miles are within 5000 of each other. Which one should I consider? Also which one would get the better gas mileage. thank you for your answers.
A: If i were you i will get the 2006 gto because the 2002 bmw m3 is old go with the gto

A: i would say the STI is faster...if you look at the launching of the STI, it is made for racing..it is made to be pushed..the beamers started off as looks..and if it wasn't for the BMW M3, they would not be faster..an EVO and a BMW have comparisons, but the STI is way better...let me know if u need more help
