Q: should i buy a used 2003 BMW M3, used 2007 Lexus IS 350 or a new Infiniti G37?
I'm currently looking for a car that is sporty, has 6 cylinder s(gives around 20 highway mileage), is luxurios, and also has good safety rating. My plan is to hand it down to my son next year when he turns 17. What's a good choice out of these three or is there any other luxury sports car that meets this criteria.

A: Well since you plan to hand it down i think u should go with the M3 I think its the Best of all these choices and u should enjoy it and your son definitely will.

Q: My 2003 BMW M3 has 43000 miles on it. Why does it say i need an inspection in less than 500 miles?
I thought only an oil service was needed around the 45000 mile mark. And if it does need an inspection, is it inspection I or II?

A: The computer actually goes by fuel quantity used and not absolute mileage. It starts at 15,000 miles and counts down to zero when your car has used a set quantity of fuel. The amount is somewhere around 2500L to 3250L. See the links I posted. The idea is if you drive the car harder it will use more fuel and require service more frequently. You will need to have a dealer pull the service history. If the last inspection was inspection 1, you will need inspection 2. It goes like this: Oil Service --> Inspection 1 --> Oil Service --> Inspection 2. Then it repeats. There are also a few things that go by time or absolute mileage. For example you should have a brake fluid flush ever 2 years.

Q: 2003 BMW M3 rear differential noise?
I am driving a 2003 M3, lately i have been hearing grinding and thumping noise from my rear differential area, so i took it to the dealership to repair it. The service advisor told me they need to replace the power steering pump and also change out the differential fluid. After 7 days i got the car back, the thumping noise is gone but the grinding noise still there. Can someone help me to identify this porblem, thank you very much. After differential fluid changed, the grinding noise is lighter but it's still there when i am turning around 10-15 miles without giving it gas.

A: Hey Nick! Recently I was having the same problem with my laguna secca blue 2004 BMW M3; and my problem was solved when they installed (as written on my invoice): "SPECIAL DIFF. FLUID". I'm not sure if you're in Canada or not, or if it will matter, but the part number for that is 83-22-2-282-583. In fact, when I was having that problem, I looked it up here and saw your question, and printed it off to help me explain to the dealership what I was experiencing with mine. I know you said that the service advisor mentioned that the differential fluid needed to be changed; and later your car was making the sound again, but maybe you should go somewhere else to get it fixed. One time, for a different problem, I took my car 3 times to the same dealership and they were not able to fix my problem. Then, when I gave up on them, and I went somewhere else the new dealership fixed my problem on the first try. Also when you go, I would recommend requesting (if you can) to ride with the shop foreman so you can be sure that the guy knows what problem he is trying to fix. Anyways, best of luck to you!

Q: 70000 Miles on a 2003 BMW M3?
I found a 2003 BMW M3 for $27000 at 70000. Two questions. First is that a good price? Second how much longer will this car last? My current car is a Lexus GS300 thats at 150000+ and is still running perfectly, but then again Toyota is known for their reliability. Would the M3 last me another 70000 miles?

A: Not a good price. Car& Driver bought a 2003 BMW M3 to test. They said it had around 50,000 miles on it and they were able to buy it for $28,000. The M3 you are looking at should cost $23,000. All newer cars can last 200,000 miles. The BMW could last you another 70,000 miles if it was and is taken care of. German cars are usually not reliable, but the 4 cylinder turbo engines from VW/Audi and the Porsche engines are very reliable.

Q: 2003 BMW M3 question on warning lights?
what does it mean on a 03 bmw m3 that the dynamic stability lights go on with the yellow brake lights same time? then turns off and on? the dsc lights do not flash... they come on w/ the yellow brake lights and now, it is off... it's turned on twice and went away twice... does the lights go away real fast or does it go off after you turn off the car? it's gone away on mine only after I turned off my car... any suggestions? thanks

A: well, could he wheels be spinning, when the DSC light flashes, it mean you have lost traction, and the computer has to brake the wheels and reduce the amount of gas going to the engine with the electronic throtlle Good Luck CHado

Q: 2003 BMW M3 Redline?
I recently purchased a 2003 BMW M3 with about 25k miles. I accidentally redlined it in first gear for less than a second before shifting (I didn't realize the RPM accelerated that quickly). Any type of damage that I should look out for? I normally never pass 6500 rpm (redline is about 8500 to 9000 rpm)

A: That is perfectly fine. The engine has a rev limiter than will stop the engine from reving higher. When you hit it, you will know. It's called "bouncing" off the rev limiter for a reason :) Assuming the maintenance has been performed as required, you did absolutely nothing to damage the engine. If you left it floored for a half hour I would be concerned.

Q: is it worth to buy the extended warranty for a 2003 bmw m3?

A: Absolutely. You can get an extended warranty to probably 100k for under 2500 (We extended a porsche 911 GT2 to 100k bumper to bumper for 2400). If they tell you more than 2500, negotiate the hell out of them, theyre trying to rip you off. I have yet to have a warranty NOT pay for itself (outside of the GT2s, because we just got the warranty)

Q: If you had 35K to spend on a vehicle help me choose...1. 2003 BMW M3 2. 2003 Corvette Z06 3. 2006 Pontiac GTO
I like to go straight line, will do some autocross, a love to torment ricer, and old schools. So whats it gonna be........

A: it all depends on what you want to do with the ride. if you want to race it they buy the M3, if you want to make it look good then buy the Corvette. but personally i would buy the M3 it has great speed and looks as well as interior. i hope i helped u out. its a hard choice

Q: 68 dodge charger or 2003 BMW M3?
I have a 440 engine and a charger 68 shell in my garage, that none of my mates know about .i have i real passion for chargers and mopar engines.one of my mates just bought a fairly ne M3 .which will make the unvieling of my charger (when its finished) not as impressive.can i compete on speed with an m3 with if i invest money into hot rodding my engine .? and also what would you guys prefer and why?

A: Go with the Charger. It's one of the manliest cars ever built. Make sure it has a good paint job, and the interior is clean and good-looking. However, above all else, make sure the engine performs correctly. Check every wire, lead, switch, and pump before you do anything. Then fill 'er up with all the various fluids and start it up! Have your friends come over, and watch as you M3 driving friend wets himself in jealousy. Oh, and tell your friend his M3 makes him look like a cock. I'll bet he wears a bluetooth headset, the freak.

Q: 2003 BMW M3 Radio Problems after installing new battery?
So I installed a new battery on my '03 M3, and since then, my radio will freeze for about 5 seconds about 4-5 times while I am on a short drive. During that time I cannot shut it off, change stations, etc. At first I thought it was my CD skipping, but I get the same problem with my radio. what's going on?

A: sometimes without removing fuses to the radio a surge will circuit the system even by chance through the ground connections ... its possible you short cicuited the radio.. small electronic chops will repair it for pretty cheap or if its under warrenty just give it to them and let them deal with it
