Q: How can you tell a 1995 BMW M3 from a regular 3 series?
I am stationed in Baumholder germany and am about to purchase a 1995 3 series BMW. He said it was a 316i, but the title book is in german, and there are no badges noting the model. It has M series aluminum rims, spoiler, and other tell-tell signs it might not be a reg 3 series. Sorry if i sound ignorant, but i have little experince with beamers.

A: Sounds like the car was optioned with model-designation delete and the M-package, though these could be after-market changes. Either way, this setup will look great and deliver high MPG's, but isn't going to be nearly as fast as it looks. By the way: If you're planning to ship this car home at the end of your tour, make sure it will pass import regulations; for instance, the 1.6 engine wasn't imported to the US, which might cause problems with emissions certification, and parts availability.

Q: What cylinder heads would fit a 1995 bmw m3?
I need a replacement head for my cracked cylinder head on my m3. I was wondering if any 3 series would fit it or how that might work. Does anyone know which ones are compatible?

Q: How come when im driving my 1995 bmw m3 i hear a beep??
ill be driving some times and ill hear three beeps coming from the dashboard like its above the speedometer hmm, any one know why it does this?? help and thanx

A: It is probably the hourly chime which notifies you that the top of the next hour has arrived. If it happens when the hour changes you know that is it. The manual tells you how to turn this off.

Q: 2001 BMW 325i for 7995 or 1995 BMW M3 for 7800?
Should I purchase this 2001 BMW 3 series 325i for 7,995 with 124,027 miles? OR Should I purchase the 1995 m3 for 7800 with 145,000 miles Both manual Out of these two which is the better deal and last longer.

A: I hope you know that both of these cars will be expensive as hell to maintain. Especially the M3 so don't think you're getting a nice car for the low because the M3(especially if it wasn't maintained properly) can become a money pit.

Q: 1995 BMW M3 squeaks on left side when turning left?
My car squeals when I turn left at low speeds, I don't have to be braking, and I'm quite sure the sound is coming from the left side. It only happens at low speeds like under 25 mph I'd say. Also, the sound gets progressively more frequent in pulsation with acceleration. I'm almost positive the new rotors are parallel. Perhaps the problem comes from the oversize 19" rims with low profile tires. Does anyone have any idea?

A: It depends if the squeals sound like brake squeals or something else. Normally, squeals associated with steering comes from the belt/power steering pump; and usually at the very end of the steering turn (ie; max turn). To confirm this, start your engine, open the hood, have a friend turn the steering from end to end; with you looking (and listening) into the engine compartment. You should be able to zero in on the squeal if it's from the belt/power steering pump. You might just need a new belt replacement.

Q: where is the battery for a 1995 bmw m3 and whaat the specs on it?
wheres the battery? what are the specs? how much should i sell it for? - good condition, suspension lowered all help appreciated

A: The battery is in the right trunk. Your owner's manual shoulda told you that. Can't help you with a price without knowing: - how many miles- single owner, multiple owners? - Maintenance history. - What do you define as "good"? KBB defines it as new or relatively new interior, no dings, dents. Original paint with no fades. Never been in a major accident. - You will never get your money back with customization, ESPECIALLY on a trade in.

Q: 1995 BMW M3 any information you can provide?
Do anyone know are there any issues with this year make and model BMW. I'm looking at one with 175,000 miles. What should I be cautious of? Appreciate any information provided.

A: 175,000 miles??? Any car with that mileage is going to have issues. BMW's are more expensive to repair simply because the parts come from Germany and there are fewer qualified technicians. Go on the BMW forums and educate yourself. http://www.m3forum.net http://www.e46fanatics.com http://www.bimmerforums.com

Q: what car should i buy a 1999 bmw m3 or 1995 camaro Z28 convertible
they are both stick and under 5 grand. i am 17 and how much do you think the insurance will be. this is all in planning on buying a first car

A: i would go with the Chevy (would be better if it was a SS) because it will be a lot cheaper to repair and aftermarket parts are plentiful so it is a easier car to upgrade, plus its a drop top you cant go wrong there

Q: question for a race car expert..about how much horsepower does a 1995 bmw-m3 car customized as this have:?
3.0 liter straight -6 cylinder engine, bored out,has an m-5 chip, cold air intake, custom headers,no catalytic converter,-straight pipe exhaust system--about .. tested acceleration- 0-70 in under 5.0 seconds.. thanks.. ;) ...oh it is the "euro" model..with the strait- 6....m-power engine as stock..

A: Ok is this U.S M3 or Euro ? The U.S version had 240 hp stock and with those mods . What was it bored out to ? They have thin cylinder walls as it is . Id say maybe 300 whp on a good day , they just come too good from the factory , mods dont do a whole lot on performance . But don't let that number fool you , they aren't extremely heavy ,have lots of torque and have good gearing, so a 240hp M3 hangs with most 300 -/+ hp cars . But even with those mods I highly doubt its good for a sub 5 second 0-60 , someone is blowing smoke up your butt , unless this is the euro model that had 286 hp stock .
